Sunday Evenings June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25

6:00pm at Fairmount United Methodist Church Sanctuary

Fairmount United Methodist Church is one of our partners in working on racial justice in our neighborhood, with Pilgrim people participating in a joint team that meets regularly. This summer they will offer space for healing. Some have labeled the pandemic as a mass trauma event. Traumatic in that our world has experienced grief, loss, and isolation on world-wide scale. As we come out of the pandemic, some of the anxieties and griefs will surface as we begin to reconnect with people in the real world.

Maybe you have already experienced the challenge of trying to catch up the last year with someone you haven’t seen in that time. Maybe you are struggling with how to be in community after being alone.

This summer we will be offering Restoration Healing Circles, a time to simply gather in a circle and share how we are processing the many emotions of coming out of the pandemic. Similar to other community healing and accountability groups, participants simply show up and share. We listen to one another and hold space in the circle for each other’s stories. This is not therapy or a Bible Study, rather it is simply being present, offering space, holding story.

It is a place to give voice and to be in community. Come one time. Come every time. All are welcome.

Restoration Healing Circles will be co-led by Fairmount United Methodist’s pastor, Shawna Horn, and her husband, Josiah Horn, MSW, LICSW and trained Circle Keeper. RSVP’s appreciated, but not required. We will be emailing out COVID protocols for these gatherings. (We will be masking indoors.)
