If your child would like to play or sing a solo or in a small group for in person Christmas Eve worship at 2:30 pm or 4:15 pm (4:00 pm prelude), please contact Paul at SteverPaul55@aol.com ASAP or by Monday, December 6 if at all possible, with your interest. We'd love to hear what they've been working on, or Paul can help them find music!
On December 19, any vaccinated children or youth who can read music and would like to join with adult choir members to sing "O Come Little Children" are welcome to simply show up that morning at 8:30 am for the 9:30 am service. All are certainly welcome to join us for rehearsal at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 15 as well (we'll practice this piece for the first 20-30 minutes of rehearsal). You can also contact Paul to receive the music and/or a practice recording ahead of time.
Our current director of Children's Choirs, Maggie Priola, will continue directing the Junior Choir (approximately 4th-8th graders) and we are working to hire a new staff person to lead other music programming for children. This could also allow us to have multiple offerings simultaneously, in different parts of the building. We intend to list a job opening in December, conduct interviews in January, and begin offering a variety of children's music programming by February, assuming health conditions and interest allow. We require staff who work with children at Pilgrim to be vaccinated against COVID-19. As with our adult choirs, we humbly request and expect that any choral singers are vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to choir. Masks are currently required in the building for the foreseeable future.
